Obviously, the price is right, but I've been curious for some time about the name "Vector Research," so I would appreciate any opinions on this EQ, and on the brand, generally. (I have a small, passive subwoofer by VR, and I'm not that impressed, but I'm not sure it's crossover is working properly, either. I hear higher frequencies out of it, watching DVD's, than just subwoofer-class frequencies--I hear dialogue, faintly, sometimes.)
I'm curious as to the age of this EQ and it's approximate worth (if any).
A related question: Do You Like EQ's Generally?
I see posts occasionally where people comment that they've removed switches/tone adjustments, etc..., so that their "signal path is purer." I guess I get that, as a concept, and I'm wondering if true "audiophiles" don't like equalizers, generally, as they just represent yet more switching-paths the signal has to go through, before it hits the speakers.
Is that a concern, or am I more in ignorance than I originally thought?
I like equalizers, and this seems like it would be fun to play with, but I just wondered what the AK-world thought of their effect on sound quality, generally.
