This article gives some more details Eric Clapton wins legal case against woman selling bootleg live CD for £8.45 (msn.com)

''Lawyers for the 76-year-old rock star pursued the case, and sent a Düsseldorf regional court an affidavit stating that the recordings were illegal and made without Clapton’s consent.

In response to a standard letter from Clapton’s German legal team, the woman replied: “I object and ask you not to harass or contact me any further”, and told them “feel free to file a lawsuit if you insist on the demands”.

An injunction was filed and the court found in Clapton’s favour. The woman appealed, stating that her late husband bought the disc in 1987 at a popular German department store, but lost. The judge said it was irrelevant that she did not buy the CD herself.''

So she could have taken down the listing and that would have been the end of it. but instead decided to be stupid and now it's cost her.

Hmmm, if that's true it does change things a bit. Seems she was asked to pull it, so "grandpa" sued "grandma." Court of public opinion, name calling and shaming (sticks and stones......) without full knowledge of event's.

Doesn't Youtube pull stuff constantly with algorithms.

I doubt very seriously if any reading this thread were faced with someone stealing from them. Would let it pass on by. Not in the least would be my guess, go after the thief in some fashion or another.

As to Mr Clapton's questionable actions. I do not know him personally so want to believe he is not as bad as being reported. If I'm wrong he is no worse then many people I meet and know. I don't like what and how they act or are. Know that I can not change them, so will avoid.

I don’t think anyone is suggesting doing nothing, plenty of options for him that wouldn’t have made headlines or made him look bad.

Again man, I’m not saying he wasn’t within his rights. All I said was he could have handled this in a way that’s didn’t make him look bad. Nothing inaccurate about that statement.

Yes it could of been handled differently. Who knows, I don't.

My point was the Grandmother pretty much IMHO brought it on herself, got what she deserved looks like. I have found in my time on this earth, being nice to some people, their are the ones who see it as being weak. Then will take advantage due to having no respect for your kindness generosity. So have toughened, hardened over the years in response to my experiences.

Not arguing with any of that, we’re all entitled to our opinion. I’m nice to everyone, I could care less if they see it as weak. Confidence is a great thing.
