cleaning interior of receiver

I recently acquired a Yamaha rx-v640. The interior of it is heavily caked with dust and pet hair. I was wanting to clean it out, but I am a newb when it comes to anything on the inside of a receiver. Does anyone have any tips or advice on cleaning it out? Any precautions?

I usually start with an artist's brush or two, with the wife's vacuum pulling the loose crap out as I brush. Take off covers, the knobs, face etc to deep clean.
 
A paint brush, a vacuum sweeper used diligently and a leaf blower are all part of my dust/cat hair removal toolbox.
