Cleaning severely corroded tube pins - isopropyl and steel wool

Its where they suck the air out. Most small tubes have it on top, this one happens to have it on the bottom. Octals usually have it on the bottom, but its hidden by the plastic key.
The socket for that must be a special one with a hole in its center that accommodates the rather large exhaust nipple.

I looked up the tube type, its a 12 pin duodecar "compactron" type. Those usually have a pretty large center opening.

Is it possible to reapply nickel plating to the pins via electrolysis or would immersing the tube in water ruin it?

It's now called ex-Tarn-X.

:(
Wouldn`t surprise me that the EPA pressured the Tarn-X Co. to water it down, if not the case then the Tarn-X Co. might have done so on its own for economic reasons.
Kind of like what happened to Ospho rust treatment, that over the counter availability is not as strong/effective as is available to commercial interests, as told to me by my decades long friend who found out from his direct business connections with the marine industry several decades back.
