Clear Audio gets a solid Foundation

I have a table based on a old Singer sewing machine that is very solid. It was my parents, so when mom ( a big classical music lover along with my father) past away a few years ago I invested some of my inheritance funds on a modern table. It only seemed right to have the table on that piece. I had a new very heavy solid wood two tier filing cabinet sitting in the back storage area given to me by my son-in law a while back, so I got off my lazy a** and moved them into the music room.

The sewing machine based table is not going anywhere, but it will no longer support my Clear Audio table. A shout out to @theophile whose threads on TT isolation I have followed for quite a while.

Even with 9 different levels of isolation, I could still faintly hear a tap on the sewing machine table. With the new cabinet supporting the table, everything is dead silent, and the Clear Audio is allowed to extract more information I am sure due to the lower noise floor provided by the heavy solid wood file cabinet.

It really is a startling difference, so I would offer that everyone take a hard look at what is supporting thier tables and strive to find improvement. My isolation journey has be re-ignited!

Regards,
Jim
