Clearance Above PSU Capacitor

Hello

I'm wondering what clearance a power supply cap should have above it? I've replaced the 10 000 uF caps in an NAD C315BEE with what I had on hand and now there is only about 2 mm (5/64") clearance to the metal case top, whereas there was around 10 mm (almost 1/2") previously. The top of the caps is insulated.

On a similar note, how important is lateral clearance from nearby caps?

If I get shorter replacement caps is there more lifespan benefit in increased temperature or increased
voltage? This amp seems to run warm.

You should be fine.. As long as you can still get the case on. Caps don't run warm unless there bad.
