Coax FM antenna to vintage audio

Hey guys,

Just bought three Marantz receivers(2216, 2225, 2230), plan to fix them up then have them run two separate rooms, and an outdoor setup. Not sure if I will keep these, I would only consider changing for a little more power. I have a fm antenna that was great with my crappy best buy special receiver. Only problem there is no coax antenna input.

There must be an adapter, right? Once I have said adapter, which antenna input would I attach it too?

You need a 75 ohm to 300 ohm adaptor. On your receiver there should be two terminals labeled FM antenna or something similar to that. That's where the adaptor goes.

Most 22xx Marantz have term set for 75ohm coax.... your's doesn't?

I bet it does..... 75 ohm is there, just not in a F59 connector.

Coax confusion

Maybe I am using the wrong word

My antenna has an output like cable. The antenna in on the receivers are screws with one for ground, and one for 75 ohm. How do you attach a cable to that?

Thanks

Strip the end off the coax , the sheilding will be the ground wire and the center goes to the 75 connector .
Twist and solder a wire onto the shielding , heat shrink it and you will be set up ....
