Command record info please

Hi all, I've tried to identify a command label record I had heard in the past but am not having any luck ID-ing it. Have spent a few hours on line with no luck.

The first song has an accordion in it but it's not the dominant instrument. I believe there are 5 songs on the side of the LP??? The second song from what I can remember has a lot of "wind chime" "triangle"?? type sounds. All of the side (and maybe the entire LP) is all instrumental. I also believe there's an oriental style song on the side also.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? I sure would like to find this LP again.

Thank you. Bob

Edit: Track 9 "Tabu" isn't on the playlist but it fits in with what you describe.

I will take a listen however I don't remember it having "My heart belongs to daddy" Haven't listened to that one in quite a while so will give it a try.

I knew this was a "long shot" but never know!
Thank you very much for you answer. If you have any other possibilities please let me know.

Also, That Tabu does sound like my memories! I do have this vinyl however it's from my Dad's collection from the 60's and it's been played on everything imaginable! Someday I do need to get a better copy.

Thanks again Johnny!

No problem! It matched the descriptions you gave. There light accordion on B1, chimes in B2 and an Asian track later on on the B side.

It was kind of cool listening to the the 60's version of "chill"....... almost had me putting on the lounge suit and pouring a martini. They sound very well recorded and engineered..

Johnno, Your video of the turntable playing Tabu was cool! Thanks for posting that. Tabu is a great song which is neck and neck with the first song on side A, "I'm in the mood for love" as my favorites.

Yes all that matches my descriptions but I do have that album. There's something else out there that one of these days I'll hear and my mind will say "that's it!" Going from memory, the accordion in the first song is not the dominant instrument but more so than in "My heart belongs to daddy"

I hope to find a like new condx copy of this someday soon. Also, when I look at used record stores, if I see something on the "Command" label, I buy it. If there's better recordings out there, I haven't heard them. Command was great.

I knew posting this question was a long shot but you never know. I'll still be spending time on you tube hopeing that some song will "ring a bell"!

Thanks again, Bob

While you're digging around, keep an eye out for his 30's, 40's, and '50s big band hits. Excellent stuff, all high quality direct to master and QS encoded, so especially nice on a quad system.

I've seen this one on advertisements and it did catch my eye! No quad system tho. These Command records are amazing aren't they!

Johnno, I finally got a chance to take a serious listen to Persuasive Percussion. You nailed it! Thank you for the info.
My record is in pretty good shape but now I'm gonna try to find a mint condx record.
It sure does sound good on the KEF's!

Glad you found it!

It was a lot of fun going through some of those Bachelor Pad grooves from the 60's.

After re-reading these posts I see that I contradicted myself about the condition of my record. Since I wrote that, what I did was clean it. I read on here somewhere about a guy that used dish soap, a small soft paint brush, and had good results. Well I tried that and good results is an understatement! It made a HUGE difference! This record went from fair condition to pretty darn good! I was amazed. Wish I knew who wrote that.
