Custom Lettering Decals: Where To Get Them

John L

Chief Bloviator
Does anyone have any idea where I could go in order to purchase custom word decals for finishing the chassis of a rebuilt amplifier, or any other custom audio device. I am referring to such things as "Selector", "Volume", "Balance", "Bass", "Treble", etc.

I have looked around the office supply stores, such as Office Max, and Staples, but nothing. Also, I looked on the internet, but don't see anything that will work for small wording. If anyone has a better idea, I am open to suggestions.

Try the online hobby houses and look for laser-printer decal sheets. Then you print your own, trim to fit, and apply. It was covered (with links) in another thread on here.

Pardon my ignorance, but "online hobby houses"? Can you name a few? I've never heard of this before.

I spoke too soon.:nono: I Googled it and WoW! There is a great deal of infor out there, isn't there?

I do have a question though. I see that there are some sheets for ink jet printers. Are they as good as the Lazer printers? I don't have a lazer printer

Laser printer should prove best.

As for the faceplate, I'm going to experiment with a silkscreen and some automotive paint. I'll report back when I do.
