DARED VP-16 Int.Tube Amp

hi all,

i'm looking for a tube amp and came across this one named DARED VP-16(push-pull). its a 12w x2, Tube used:6N9P(6SL7)x2, 6P6P(6V6)x4 No valve rectifier.
As i'm a newbie, would very much appreciate all guru here to advise me on the amp, and your opinion as well. Thanks in advance!!! :)

I have a Dared VP-16 and absolutely love it. It is my first foray into tubes and I think it it's a great amp. It's well built and HEAVY. The sound is warm and full. But when I changed out the stock 6v6 Chinese tubes to ElectroHarmonix, the clarity improved and the bass tightened up. I am running it with Klipsch Kg4 speakers.
 
do a search on dared here. I have a pair of there mono blocks VP-10- and the SL-2000a preamp and both perform rather well,what speakers do you have ?

I just bought a Lothx-Lon2 speaker, so thought of getting this VP-16 to drive it...shouldn't be a problem i guess... :scratch2:

have u done any bias adjustment after tubes changed? :)

No. The amp is supposed to be self-biasing. I tried to contact Dared for a schematic to confirm the bias values, but never got a reply. I guess that's one caveat to a Chinese amp, customer service may be non-existent.
With that said, I have located an importer that, surprisingly, is local to me in Naperville, Illinois. I have not contacted them yet though. I have been using the new tubes for almost a year and it seems OK. Actually it is running cooler as well.
 
I have a Dared MP-7, been a good amp thus far. Scroll back and you'll see some of my past postings on it.
 
Dared VP-16 have no Auto Bias!

Hi there,

You should set up for 200mVDC - 250mVDC.

There are 4 blue Pots, for Each PowerAmp Tube 1 Pot.

does anyone have the circuit diagram for this thing? i have the older version. Dared does not seem to check their email so fast
