Deck parts.

Too many notes!!!
All;

Would someone steer me in the direction of Otari parts? Please!

I have been looking for the last two days and most of my Emails went unanswered. Or just to say, don't have one.

I have an MX 5050B (and not a 'BII)-2HD, an older model with grey pot knobs, that needs a source/tape switch, replaced.

I remember reading about someone out in California who bought Otari's parts lot. If there is truth to that, and if I knew who he is, I would write him.

Per the Tape Project, the web site in Kawait (sp) has a site that I can't send an Email to. It just doesn't work. So I struck out there.

Any ideas? Please.

Did you try contacting that ebay seller from Buckingham Virginia with all the Otari stuff? He seems to have loads of machines and parts all the time. His ebay name is wneigh2222o18 maybe he has what you are looking for? No affiliation with me, just an observation.

AJ;

Yes, actually, he's the guy I bought it from.

I contacted him first but he wanted two arms and three legs, in price, for the switch set. The refurbished deck price wasn't so bad but he must be making a ton of money on parts, though. And, to me, it looked easier to replace both switches than just one.

I wrote in at Tapeheads, too, and got a reply from Skywavebe, in Chicago. All good contacts but no parts on hand.

I have started to tack those pieces back together with a 1/32" Dia. length of piano wire and J B Weld, I 'know' epoxy steel will cure hard. I drilled an over sized hole in each part, for the wire. I don't trust 5 Min. epoxy for that.

Thank you for the reply, all ways good advice here.

Yours,

Lu.
