dial restring question

hola,
I am almost finished recapping my marantz 2270 and so far so good. Part of the restoration included restringing the dial as the string was frayed and slipping. Got it restrung in about 15 minutes. Easier than I thought. Its been at least 20 years since I had to restring a tuner.Anyway my question is what glue should I use to attach the indicator to the string. Looks like the original was some kind of rubber cement.

I would avoid stuff like super glue as it has a tendency to melt certain types of plastics.

i'll check out the trim adhesive. Btw, I used non stretch beading string which seems to work well. It comes with preattached really thin wire (about 2 inches) on one end to help in threading the string through tight spaces. Makes restringing a snap. cut it off when your done and cauterize the end to keep it from unraveling.

Great idea. Thanks for the tip. I have Marantz 125 that could use a restring. Do you have a link to the string you used or is it something available at any hobby store?

i bought it from a local bead supply store. I cant take credit for the idea. I believe I read it on AK. They sell different types of beading string so you have to make sure you get non stretch string of a size that is compatible with what you are replaceing.
