 These are Yamaha NS 1000Ms with matching serial numbers and grills. cabinets have some scratches and bumps from being shuffled around a bit and the owner was there and said they sounded good. I scooped them up because I really didn't know them but have heard them mentioned in a good way as I recalled...and they were heavy. Also the price was right at a fund raising sale. As soon as I had the sold sign placed on these I turned around and was staring straight down at the Dual 1019 turntable. which I quickly snapped up as well. But I had to pass on a set of Pioneer CS-63DX speakers in good condition because they were asking more than twice what the yammies were and I didn't have the money for both pairs...oh well, sometimes it bees that way I guess. I am happy with the yammies and the TT I think. Hope somebody gets to enjoy the Pioneers, they were really nice looking. Anyway, will try and get better pics for posting on $ and cents later. By the way...what did I pay for these? Both the TT and speakers together was no more than lunch at McDonalds for a week. I must have had some Karma coming my way.

That's a real nice looking scooter there. I think if I had one of those I would have less time for everything else.

Hmmm

hmmm.....let me see.....NS-1000m's or eating at Mickey D's for a week. Man, that is a tough call...............Great pickup on some speakers which are on my list short list of next purchase.

Very nice, indeed! Do my eyes deceive, or are the tweeters slightly different one to the other?

Yeah man, quarter pounder w/cheese and fries or NS 1000Ms. Life's full of tough decisions.

The best part. Every thing for its purpose sounds great! And to think i considered some oof it for sale at some point...glad they never sell.

I've not seen a dual in a wooden case like that. Was that standard back then? I've already got a 1229 and too many other TT's, but that looks interesting enough I'd have to get it anyway...

I thought the case made it nice too. I'll have to work on the dual, it doesn't seem to be responding properly to controls but at least the motor runs and the platter turns.

Right on, glad to see someone else get a killer deal on some of these. :thmbsp: I got a pair in a thrift awhile back for $25. :D Mine are pretty rough, as far as the cabinets, & one woofer is bad, but I just put some EVM 12Ls in, & they sound great. I imagine you've googled them by now, & have an idea what they go for, so yep, MAJOR scroe. :smoke:

Nice scroe!!! I owned a pair of 1000m's and enjoyed them for the time they were in my system. Happy listening.

I would have bought them and I don't like "monkey coffin" speakers. As for the Pioneer's? No contest. I wouldn't have even considered them. I know lot's of folks here would have bought them also. But, that's just me.
