I know nothing beats a great steak but after coming home from my taverns local beer takeover night (they serve every flavor of the local micro brews including good people, avondale, and backforty on tap) I had a hunger.

So tonite:

rack of lamb off the grill (with mustard, montreal steak seasoning, and thyme)
steamed green beans
corn on the cob
garlic bread
gin and tonic with a layer of ice on top and a splash of lime juice.

Add a little zz-top hot blue and righteous and life is good.

Sounds like it will make a turd.:D

Just kidding. I bet it was wonderful meal.

We went out to eat with my oldest son and family. I had some excellent spinach dip, Monte Cristo sammich and broccoli cheese casserole.

Jose Ole steak & cheese taquitos, microwaved till they're melting out the ends, original Pringles, plain tap water, and the 1st U.K. pressing of Deep Purple/Made In Japan. :music:

tonight inlaws came over for a dinner.
we had 7 pounder leg of lamb with mango jalapeno coleslaw and slow baked potatoes. chambord vodka cocktail with some crushed black berries.

caramelized banana topped ice cream for dessert....and bruebeck's time out never fail to cheer up the mood.

For a change of pace, we had a Caesar Salad with mushrooms, bacon, stem cherry tomatoes and fresh-made croutons topped off with fresh-grated Peccorino Romano. Freshly made strawberry shortcake for a dessert made it so good that I didn't miss the meat.

I got you all beat.

The VFW was serving Brunswick stew, from the local Smithfields. I had it covered with hotsauce and crackers. The juke box was playing in the background and all I had to pay for were the Ultra's.

But by the time you pay your beer tab, race pool, book and jug, $3 half n half dice game, with a tip, you are broke.

By the way, some one won the dice game yesterday at the table I was sitting at. Rolled five 3's. Got to split $410 with the club. That was a free beer for me.

We need to take up a collection for this poor soul! BTW :worthless except for spaceman's dinner

Hey, what's wrong with taquitos? At least they have real meat in them, and no BEANS. ;) And the water was just what I wanted, after drinking coffee most of the day. But if you really feel sorry for me, call in an order for teriyaki chicken, I love that stuff. :D

I kid, I kid! I consider that bachelor food (or for one of those nights your too lazy to get off the couch!). My guilty pleasure is frozen pizza.

I love peccorino, bought A 4 lb. Slab last year. Makes a nice Alfredo.
