Do you have an AR XA Single Motor Wiring Diagram?

Cause if you did have an AR XA single motor wiring diagram, it would be super helpful. Would you share it please?

I am resuscitating my long-delayed AR XA turntable project. The hard parts are done, I just need to wire in the motor as well as the tonearm, and I should be in business. I just don't know which wire is which.

ready? I hope this is 120v 60hz your referring to.

the top white wire and green wire are summed, and connect to the hot side of the power cord.
The other white wire is summed with the yellow wire from the switch and to one side of the phase cap
the red wire goes to the other side of the phase cap
the black wire from the switch goes to the neutral side of the power cord.

The tonearm wire in the AR headshell is not "sme" rt channel is red and black. left channel is white and green
 
@rgbeach Thanks so much for the suggestion. My motor wiring is different colors so that is a no go my particular situation, but it will definitely be useful if/when I switch to a hurst motor
@marcmorin I think that's the one. I don't have my TT in front of me, when I get home I will know more. Also, a few years ago you refurbed a tonearm for me, meant for this project. I am super pumped to get this done and FINALLY get to hear your fine handiwork :)
 
OK, I'm in front of my AR XA. Looks like I have a universal(?) motor that can be wired for 110 or 220. There are 1 blue, 1 red and 2 grey wires. thoughts on which is which?

I just had a revelation, no wonder my table sounds a little off.

well, alrighty then, you don't have the haydon motor you have the skinny shaft premotec motor......both gray wires attach to the power cord hot side. the red wire attaches to the phase cap along with the yellow wire from the switch, the blue wire attaches to the other side of the phase cap.
black wire from switch attaches to the neutral side of the power cord.

yep, the haydon motor, and the hurst motor shaft is 1/8" / 0.125" , yours is 0.075"
something wrong with the motor you now have?
 
Thanks @bob smog . I've read through that before but didnt see the little note next to the wiring diagram precisely explaning my situation ;). Anyway. I got some time devoted to wiring today. Hopefully I'll be spinning vinyl by this evening! Then it's on to the next project on the bench

I'll let you all know how it turns out. Thanks so much for all the help and information!
 
Good news! The motor is wired in and spinning! @marcmorin I was preparing for the worst with the motor--I attempted to wire it up a couple years ago and failed fantastically (wires were hooked up hilariously wrong). Sparks flying and smoke rolling. I figured I burnt something or melted something or otherwise cost myself a motor. Now to the tonearm!
 
IT WORKS!!! I had my AR XA running last night, and listened to a few of my favorites. I still need to dial it in, but I am beside myself that it works! Photos to come!

congrats........a proper running one, in top running original condition will charm the socks off ya.
 
I know this is an old thread but looking for some help with a Haydon motor. I hooked up my Haydon motor the way it was laid out above because I have run into an issue that has me stumped: I hooked up the motor both for US & Europe connection but that did not work as usual. When switched on the motor spins clockwise some times, sometimes it spins counter clockwise and sometimes it just vibrates. I put in new caps but that did not help. So I did it as above and it will not do anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
