Dogs Rock, Post Yer Pooch!

The city's animal shelter is just down the street, and we get quite a few pooches stop in that came from there. Tonight was different, though. Callie came by with her owner, and they stopped in for a treat. Callie had come from the shelter. The interesting part - her new owner was here from BC Canada visiting a friend. His local centers were all no-kill, so he wanted to save one with a not-so-bright future. She's frisky, and full of love. He found a prize here in central CA.

Note the white leg..Unique!!!

That puppy is fetch obcessed.A high percentage of fetch is in the water retrieval as it is much easier on his joints and they are bred for water.Took to the water as soon as he saw it.The longer i have him the more i love him.Warts and all!

This is Penny, the neighbor's dog. I posted this photo in January when I first started posting photos of dogs we give treats to. She comes over almost every day for a biscuit.

A few days ago, Sharon, her owner (76), put her on her leash and crossed the street to the community garden on their way to the city walking/bike trail. Some women were having a meeting in the garden, and one had a pitbull in her car with the windows down. When it spotted Penny, it jumped out the window and attacked her. It was all the women could do to get them apart. Luckily, the pitbull was old, so the damage wasn't fatal. They got Penny to the vet, and she is on the mend. Don't know about the pitbull.

I know what SHOULD be done.

Yup

It's been too hot to sit out lately, but it cooled off enough last night for us to hit the garage. A few regulars, and then these two new diners:

These two came by with a couple and their two daughters. We talked to them a bit, and found out the the father is the pastor of the new church that is two or three blocks down the street. Nice family.
