Dollar Value,yesterday and today?

I have seen many discussions here about Vintage versus New in reference to power, looks, build quality and so on and so forth. My take on this would be to ask that if you took for instance Pioneer Silver era motl to totl and compared it to what it would have cost then and what it would cost to build them in todays market and I mean to build them exactly as they were back then but brand new today, would they not be in the range of what the newer higher end is today or not seeing that what a dollar was back then and what it is today?Taking in the fact that all the technical mumbo jumbo savvy has advanced such a long way in todays world over what it was in the 70's that these higher priced units of today, well would they be less money than what the old Pioneers would be if built in todays markets, the same or more?...:):scratch2:

Yes- they are comparable. But except for some recent MOTL builds (Denon, Insignia etc), a lot of it is TOTL gear- and priced that way.
