6300 in mint condition with box and manual should be considered. IIRC, this model goes for silly money sometimes.

Wow -two in one week, and for such little money? That sounds like some powerful Karma; the Audio Gods have been smiling on you, for sure!

Tough call on the swap - I'd check what they've been selling for on eBay and CL, and take that into consideration, especially if there is a significant price difference, but don't forget that selling one and using the money to buy the other involves more time and hassle and risk, too, so discount the figures acordingly. How badly do you want the TT, compared to the second receiver? How badly does the other guy want to make the swap? What condition are the two units in, and how much (if any) work would have to be done on them, to make them near-new again? What (if any) original documents and accessories are included? If the money aspect isn't too unbalanced, it could be a nice win-win for both of you, but I wouldn't rush into it.

Here in the local market (which may not be typical of other markets), I've seen a few more of the TTs than that receiver, and the TTs have been a little cheaper, so it might not be the best deal for you. If you can back it up with specific sales-price examples (eBay records, for example), you might make him a counter offer of a swap for the TT plus a little cash, and see what he says.

If your tech will fix the other 2325 for 50$ i would keep both of them. I have two as well and never will part with them.

Yes Beerlegs its that one in better shape.. Plus it does have the extra cartridge and nice stylus.. But I just got off the phone with the guy that has the 6300 tt and waiting for pics.. Which is better. I love the looks of both and is sound quality the same??

One more thing i can trade the 2325 strait up for a perfect Sansui au-717

The 6300 is a direct drive table and the 6200 is a belt drive. I don't have either one of them, so I wouldn't really know. The 6300 looks pretty nice and I think cost more when it was new. I know many who have the belt drives like them a lot.

This may be of interest to you. Scroll down and click on the different models.

Don't take this the wrong way, but for the money you can usually get a better table for the price of a Marantz. I had a 6200 and liked it, but I sold it because I had/have better tables. It wasn't even made by Marantz, it was made by CEC. CEC made tables for a lot of companies. They are decent tables, but the Marantz name drives up the prices a little. If you are really tied to wanting a table for a matching Marantz system that is cool. A lot of people go that way, and who can fault them? The 6x00 series tables look good, especially next to a classic Marantz receiver.
If I were you I would take breather and then follow your heart. Even if you regret what you do you can at least know that vintage Marantz gear holds it value. I bought my 6200 for $7 and sold it for a lot more than that.

Good luck!

KrisM your right i could def get a better TT.. I wanted a matching set but one guy will trade a DUAL 1229 Q plus $.. Any advice whats your favorite TT or the best sound quality.. I would like to have a TT in wood to match somewhat but sound quality is a must. Now that i have had time to think it wouldnt be right to get rid of my other 2325 I will sell my Pioneer stuff get cash then buy a table. My tech will fix the 2325 this weekend..

That's a tough question. I had a Dual 506 at the same time as the Marantz and thought they sounded pretty similar. I sold both of them. I recently picked up a PE/Dual 3048 which is similar to a Dual 1218 and like it better than the 6200. I'd love to try out a 1219 or a 1229. My main table right now is an AR-XA and I love it. It also has a nice wood/vintage look that would look good with a Marantz receiver. A vintage Thorens would sound great and look good with your Marantz. There are probably many others to consider.
Don't let me scare you away from a Marantz table, they are fine. They just carry a price premium because of the name. It is just that you get a better table, sound quality wise, for the money.
