Greetings All! I am looking for the literature/manual/pamphlet that came with the speakers. If anyone knows of an outlet or where I can locate them I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Todd

I found it. I own the a50 and a25. Love both, but a50 much better. a25 sitting unused. As soon as I can figure out how to scan and post will do it. I think they are photocopies. Might have original somewhere, but probably doesn't matter.

HiFi Engine has a copy of the A25 manual. https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/dynaco/a-25.shtml

If your documents are different than the HiFi Engine copy, you should upload it there too.

I have AR-2ax's and just bought pr A25's. Was going to buy second pr Dynaco A25's to either stack or give to Daughter. Based on your post.. maybe I should just look for A50's. Was wondering why you like the A50 so much over the A25. Have you ever heard the A35 or A40 ? Are the XL versions better than originals ?
Btw.. I recently heard A25's compared to JBL L100's. Preferred the A25's... less strident on high female voices, smoother midrange, more musical.
Thanks,
Rapide

The a50 has a double woofer, bigger cabinet so better bass than the a25. No matter what genre music you play, it handles all of them well and I feel uncolored. The dynacos are known to maintain 7 ohm impedance from the 20 to 20k audio range. They don't strain an amplifier and work well with low wattage amps. I drive them with luxman r117 which I think are 160 watts per channel. I don't play loud. At one point, I had them mounted on the wall, but sound better raised up on the floor. I originally tested these in my family room. I disconnected a pair of kef 103 and when I played these instead, my wife said to leave them there. Since moved to my finished basement with wall paneling an carpet where they sound better than in a room with tiled floors and bright walls. Not many show up for sale as i think there were not as many made as the a25 and people don't get rid of them. Good luck hunting.

Thanks for your experienced info. I have (obviously) found the power and type amp can dramatically change the sound of A25's... whether you like A25's or not. I switched from a trans 30 watt Marantz 2230 rcvr to a tube 60 watt Harman Kardon Citation II power amp. Improved imaging, transparency, smoothness and musicality. A25's sound fuller with a higher powered amp at the same moderate volume... imho.
I will expand my search to include your preferred A50's.

I've think the same with my 2226B and 2285B. I had never paired them with the 2285B until recently....they do sound better with more power. If I had never played them with the 2285B I would still be in love with them paired with the 2226B

Probably why the a50 sounds better with more power even though not played loud. Reserve power helps smooth the sound.
