I recently acquired an ELAN D1650 digital power amp. The amp is a class T with 16 outputs at 45Wrms @ 8ohms driven simultaneously, made for home audio distribution. I've been playing around with it and I'm surprised on how crisp and clean it sounds. I've been comparing it to the amplifier in my marantz SR7000, and using the marantz as a preamp for the D1650. The ELAN has a much nicer midrange and crisper highs.
Has anyone had any experience with ELAN stuff?
I was thinking of using this with the marantz as part of a 5.1 setup, or building a switch box to control the trigger inputs and use it for the ultimate speaker comparing setup. I could compare up to 8 pairs at once.
