Electrovoice EV-4

It must be raining Electrovoice speakers reading all the recent posts about them. I found a pair of EV-4 speakers with what look like cain front covers and access to the speaks was not possible. Anyone know about these (speaker type, efficiency, etc.)? I found a site devoted to Electrovoice but there was a notice saying no downloads for speaker info due to corrupted files :worried:

Off the top of my head they are 3 way with horn loaded mids and tweet and woofer i think crosses at 700.

Three way 12" ceramic woofer, midrange compression driver and diffraction horn utilizing ring-type diaphram. 5" dynamic cone tweeter. Three way etched circuit board crossover with crossover frequencies at 800 and 35kh. 30-20kh response, 60 watts peak. 8ohms impedance. Available for $138 each in 1966.

Da Woofer: Thanks for the info. Any idea on the sound quality because I could not audition them? I can get a pair for $80.

I own a pair and love them. They are what some would call mellow, but if you turn up the treble on the speakers and turn up the treble on your amp they have plenty of highs. I like the large amount of bottom end that they have. I have 80 bucks in mine and they are worth more than that in sound quality. I do not ever expect to get rid of mine. By the way they have 3 way switched on the tweeter Mid AND woofer. Quality cabinet to boot!
