Eno/Byrne - I can't stop listening to it!

There are two compilations of Eno/Moebius/Roedelius/Plank called Begegnungen I and II that are worthwhile. Also in the Fripp/Eno vein is my favorite "Evening Star". Absolutely beautiful. --Steve

Also check out the Fripp/Eno stuff: "No Pussyfooting", Then their is a bunch of great Fripp stuff which will lead you to Manzanara and of course King Crimson and back to Roxy Music

Or you could go the other direction and start talking about Eno and Fripp in relation to Bowie or Eno with U2 or if you read the fine print on the back of Another Green World you find a Phil Collins mentioned. But please, let's not go that direction...

The Eno influence is vast and has many streams. Not all of them are ones that I need to explore. :D

Phil's on a number of Eno LPs.

Bowie's "Low" and "Heroes" have their fine Eno moments. "Lodger" is a tough sell for me.

Eno produced "Remain in Light." Some of the great guitar riffs were Adrian Belew's (King Crimson) studio noodling, "stolen" by Eno and looped into the songs. Robert Fripp (King Crimson) played axe on Eno-produced "Fear of Music." See where I'm going?

what's that record by that guy who was in can (i think) where he tooks lots of found stuff off the radio, came out around the same time as my life in the bush of ghosts, called movies? cool in the pool? what's it called? i have a cdr of it some place, you would like that also, course i cant for the life of me remember what it is called or who the artist is, sorry.

Also if you get a chance to see Byrne play live he does a bunch of the Eno complilation songs. I saw hin last summer here in DC and it was one of the best shows I got to see this year.

The record is called Movies by Holger Czukay from 1979, it is very similar in construction to what Eno was doing at the time.

damn, I'm talking to myself in public again...........

Talking Head Remain in Light
Eno Byrne My Life in the Bush of Ghost
Jerry Harrison The Red and The Black
David Byrne The Catherine Wheel

All came out around the same time and are all excellent albums.
In fact Remain In Light had a profound impact on my music listing in 1980.
And I believe they all have Adrian Belew on Guitar which is one reason they are great records (he might not be on My Life…).

I own most everything eno has done both as producer and musician

Remain in Light is hands down my favorite, and Belew makes pretty much anything better.

Singing or playing? My opinion differs based on which but since Crimson is one of my favorite bands his singing really doesn't bother me that much. But to use a Frank-ism, "shut up 'n play yer guitar".

Another Brian Eno fan here:thmbsp:
Brian Eno
More Blank Than Frank

I really like their most recent collaboration "Everything That Has Happened..." and it's a strong contender for my favorite album of 2008.
