I have a line on one in original box and packing with some LS 890 speakers (cabs are a little beat) for $150.The tuner was supposed to be a receiver that turned out to be a tuner in the original asking price of $150.This is flip material for me as I have no use for tuners anymore so I am just wondering if there will be any meat on the bone left for me.These pics are file pics not the actual pics. The wood case does take it to another level.:jump: but not the one in question. There are no ebay sales to reference.Thanks.

I want the junk on the rack in the back. Those 7 chunks of Lux gear are sweet.

Seems the bay says it is a 150 max unit unless you get some folks needing the bronze.

Thanks, I guess I need to look at kt 7500 value since there are no 7550 and finding a 7550 amp owner in need of a tuner is probably not going to be easy.Yeah these are nicer looking than the silver but there are probably one to every fifty silver.
The Lux gear is nice.I had a beautiful L100u but not anyone local to repair and then the estimate from out of town was too much (500+)for me to throw into something I don't need.

The bronze will go with other Kenny amps.

The L100, you must have s,omething good to not need one of those. I've got an L-580 I have worn out collecting dust until i learn enough to effect repairs. I'd do that for a 100, too.

I bet that case would fit a 7500, and probably some other Kenwood gear. The case can't be a common item after all these years. What intrigues me is the pair of audio oscilloscopes in the background.

Other than the Kenwood KC-6060(a), what is the other one? Still rather have the two Lux tube preamps and that LRS stack.

I don't know about the bronze with silver...It may work to some degree but I would prefer matching.
I really wanted to do the L100u but I am already used to my Yamaha RXZ9 and RXV1.I couldn't see the L100u pushing them out for various reasons. Its just too bad the Lux was not functional as I really wanted to hear it.

I have a nice wood case on a KT5500 that I think will fit the 7550.The cases take them to another level visually.

I reckon the case is far more desirable than the tuner. If I was selling that tuner here in the UK i'd be lucky to get £50/60 for it.

I also think because it is a Kenwood.Equal Sansui tuners sell for almost double. Not saying they are that much better but it could be a name recognition thing. The name "Marantz" ring a bell? for a lot of people it is the end all in vintage equipment.

Kenwood makes better tuners than those others. They are a major ham radio gear supplier (Trio) so getting the puny FM band was child's play for them. Part of the reason the L-07T (II) is so highly rated by tuner info center.

Yes 100%, Even the botl Marantz stuff (which is absolute crap with particle board bottom cases) will sell for good money while a much better Kenwood/Trio/Rotel ect will be a harder sell. People are sheep, people are stupid.

The bronze in the US is harder to find as it was generally a different market product back then. So finding someone on the bay that needs it would net the cash for this one.

The speakers are what I'd be interested in. I've read good things about the LS series. The cones are supposed to be made with balsa fiber.

I have a KT-7550 that has had all the mods recommended at www.fmtunerinfo.com done by me. IMHO it regularly beats both my CD/DAC and TT for sound quality.
That is quite a statement.I can't remember that last time someone said a tuner beats other sources for sq.I did pick this up with a few other pieces thrown in.Haven't got around to listen to it yet.Pics soon.

I got the speakers also. The cabs and veneer are pretty beat but the drivers are good and the grills are decent.I'll post some pics maybe this weekend.

Yes, the changes recommended at FM Tuner Info (including changing out the op-amp) make a huge difference. Of course a good FM station is required.

Here they are in all their glory.Rough is what they are.I can't rembremer the last time I brought home speakers in this condition but they are supposed to be real nice sounding speakers and the drivers are not beat.I haven't listened to them yet but the previous owner said the sound real good.I'll find out when the time comes.
