EV-1 question

I have a KAB EV-1, which I love. I hook it up to my sears canister vac and it seems to work great.

My question is this: I have 2 settings on the vacuum for suction. One for floor and one for carpet. I have been using the floor setting as it is not as intense and designed for flat surfaces. Should I continue with this or switch to carpet which has more suction?

I have been considering the EV-1. How well does it do cleaning records?

As far as your vacuum settings go, if the record is satisfactorily dried in a few revolutions with the floor setting, I would think you have sufficient vacuum. You could try the carpet setting and compare how it does. If the record becomes difficult to rotate, I would go back to the floor setting.

Mine does an excellent job of cleaning records. It's basically the same as the lower-end Nitty Gritty machines and does a nice job of cleaning records. You get pretty quick at running a cycle when you sit down with a stack of records from the Goodwill! I can see the attraction of the more automatic machines but this one was where my budget is these days and it's outstanding. I've noticed marked improvement in records I've cleaned with it and it's great to give my new records (the very few I buy) a quick spin on it as well. I notice that makes a difference as well.

I highly recommend it for a nice cost-effective solution to cleaning your records and, as I've said before, buying this is what allows me to save so much money buying $1 records at GW.

I like it and think it does a nice job of cleaning records. They do get dry fairly quickly. i just thought the higher suction setting might pull more dirt out.

Agreed. I also poured my nitty gritty solution into an old empty discwasher bottle as the nitty gritty bottle pours way to fast
