found this cartridge on a garrard turntable I picked up and I couldn't find much information about it other then it is rare and they sell at a high price. does anybody have any experience with these? my turntable has an ortofon 2m red, would it be worth swapping out for the Fairchild?

I know this means nothing to your question, but I just happen to find it among my junk today. Shows how really simple an MC cart really is.
Mono only of course as it is from long ago. I could build something like this in my workshop.

Image doesn't work.

The OP's cartridge is stereo - it says so, and has four output pins. The OP's cartridge also has a bent cantilever, and that might have a big effect on how it sounds and what to do about it.

I don't think the cantilever is bent, I think that's just an optical illusion from the angle of the photo.

it works. I am selling the council it's in and was just debating wether to keep the cartridge or not. I suppose I should should try it on my turntable and see what it sounds like. The stylus itself just seems a lot bigger than a modern one and I don't want to mess up my vinyl.

I'd put something decent but inexpensive on the Garrard and sell the Fairchild cartridge separately if you don't want to use it.
