Favorite “One Liner’s” from albums??

A variation on the above line:

"A man with a briefcase will steal more than a man with a gun"
Don Henley? / Glenn Frey?; solo, if I remember corectly, not with The Eagles.

A couple come to mind...

From VanHalen's Hot For Teacher... "I don't feel tardy"
Used that one a lot in high school

And a line from Avalanche by Prince that pops into my head often in daily life... "So you sign your name and he claims innocence, just like every snowflake in an avalanche."

Haven't gone through the whole thread, but here's one that has gained more meaning the longer its been since my USAF days...

Though the song has many great lines, the end of Brothers In Arms is a perfect cap to that song...

"We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms"

"We're fools to make war

That would depend on the definition of “our brothers in arms” :-)

I like this tune enough to think of posting all the lyrics. I'm not much of a C&W fan. This song hits me right where I live. I feel the same way about most of Patsy Cline's music. While searching for these lyrics I came across a number of different songs with the same title

Alex Harvey, Devil On My Shoulder, JBL Sessions double LP
[Verse 1]
She went down to Union Station
And bought herself a ticket
On the last train headed for Moline
She called her mama on the phone
She cried and begged to go back home
But I'm too drunk to know just what that means

[Pre-Chorus]
Maybe she's gone for good or just a week
Maybe I'm too weak or too proud to speak

[Chorus]
But the truth is I'm a spirit from another place and time
And sometimes I'm all together
And sometimes I stumble blindly
Down the path of least resistance
At the [?] insistence
Of the devil on my shoulder

[Verse 2]
The old folks say they know me
And somebody ought to show me
What a fool I am [?]
But for all the times that it's been tried
I ain't never quit, I ain't never cried
And I ain't got no intention on starting now

[Pre-Chorus]
Maybe she's gone for good or just a week
Maybe I'm too weak or too proud to speak

[Chorus]
But the truth is I'm a spirit from another place and time
And sometimes I'm all together
And sometimes I stumble blindly
Down the path of least resistance
At the [?] (Solitaire) insistence (my bold Genius.com had only the question mark for the word)
Of the devil on my shoulder

[Chorus]
But the truth is I'm a spirit from another place and time
And sometimes I'm all together
And sometimes I stumble blindly
Down the path of least resistance
At the [?] insistence
Of the devil on my shoulder

[Chorus]

Down the path of least resistance

FWIW: The JBL Sessions LP is great for learning how various things are added during mixing and mastering.

Miles Davis to Alfred Lion, the producer.

"Is that what you wanted, Alfred?"

At the end of "One for Daddy-O"

On this album I've had for over sixty years.

I agree about the Sessions LP. I still have the one the rep gave me. Patsy Cline, yes.

"Revolution was in the air'

-Bob Dylan from "Blood on the Tracks"

Reminded upon hearing news of possible truckers' strike against NYC

"Skirts swayed while the guitars played,
Her mouth was watery and wet."

"I Don't Believe You"

- Bob Dylan, from Another Side of Bob Dylan

" we've gotta hold on, ready or not
You live for the fight when that's all that you've got!"
