Cost Analysis of my final Sound System;

Refurbished Sony cd player via Amazon; $85, plus $15 s&h.
Sherwood receiver; $100 from Radio Shack.
EPI Microtower speakers from the 80s; free from a coworker who upgraded his system (God bless him!).

listening to the Sunday's cover of 'Wild Horses' on above system; priceless.

I've had a lot of fun salvaging reveivers and speakers and playing mix/n/match, but I think I'm good for a while.

Nice, and the Microtowers are an excellent touch -- I keep looking for them, and those who own them won't sell them. Not the greatest speaker in history, but a contender in the fun per area and dollar sweepstakes. If you ever get dissatisfied, the obvious upgrade are a pair of DCM TimeWindows -- that's a compliment to both speakers.
