first time tuner alignment

Hello folks -
I'm working on a Magnavox radio chassis and would like to try aligning the tuner - is there a guide or resource here on AK for getting started with the process?

The Sams gives all the adjustment settings -- but I could use some help...

I've got a simple oscilloscope, but I don't have a frequency sweep generator -- would something like this work?

Last time I did any receiver alignments . It was Hi and Low band receivers for F-15C & E - RADAR Warning Receiver - RWR . AN/ALR56C

AM or FM? Posting up the procedure may help. That online generator won't help, you need an RF generator. If working you can do rouge alignment with an oscope and stations broadcasting near the ends of the band. Ideally you need an RF generator, oscope, and distortion analyzer.
