Fisher Custom Electra VI - Speaker Baffle Removal ?

Restoring 63 Fisher Custom Electra Vi. The grill cloth needs replaced. Anyone know how to remove the speaker baffles from this console ? It appears the speakers must be removed first and the baffles might come out the front side ? Any advice would be great. Thanks -Joe N3HEE

Go from inside. There are wood strips(cleats) screwed in to the edge that have to be removed 1st. If the baffle extends up past the horizontal, the horizontal should have a section to be removed. Once all that is out, pull out the baffle from the bottom 1st.

Thanks for your reply Larry. To get the baffle out I first removed three screws from the top of the baffle. Then I removed two screws from the cleat located near the mid range speaker and tweeter. Then I removed two screws from each of the four cleats located around the woofer. Then I had to remove the woofer. Then the remove wires from mid range and tweeter. Then I could remove the baffle from the front of the console by sliding it downward and outward. Tricky but all went well. Thanks - Joe N3HEE

I know the Regent models have removable grilles , not sure if electras do
