fisher tube tuner

was listening to my fisher FM-100-c tube tuner last night and all of a sudden the music slowly died out.On checking it out this morning the fuse is fine but one 6hr6 tube is not lighting up.Without getting too involved in takeing it out of the system I was looking for a replacement tube in my fisher 70rt mono tuner/preamp ive got in a cabinet but was wondering if anyone here knows if the 70rt uses this 6hr6 tube?

The 6HR6 is going to be a hard find. And when you do find it, expensive. An emergency replacement is the 6AU6. The 6HS6 is also shown as a xref. You lose a little in reception(not much) but it'll work until you find an 6HR6. The 6HR6 is a SEMI-REMOTE Cutoff Pentode. The 6HS6 and 6AU6 are both SHARP Cutoff Pentode's.

wow,after trying to sub in a couple tubes {6au6] I have very low volume after nothing but crickets,then pulled the 6au6 and put the old 6hr6 back in and thought ill turn it on one more time before I pull it out of the audio stand and its workin!!took a look in back and sure enough the same tube has lit up now alls working fine....not sure what took place but now I know I better pick up a couple spare 6hr6's for the future,thx guys

will be pulling the fisher and cleaning all the tube sockets as this can be the only explaination I think
