Hoarding records since 1990
I helped my step-dad with a water heater today and afterward we went to the local flea market. He was going to put some gas in my car but I just filled up so I didn't need it so he gave me 10 bucks to blow on whatever at the flea market.
After some buying, selling, and trading with 11 different vendors I walked out with this.
Vinyl - all sealed
Brother to Brother - Shades of Creation
Brother to Brother - Let Your Mind Be Free
Hero - Boys Will Be Boys
Donna Summer - Cats Without Claws
Gypsy - Life (weird Caribbean gospel music, I enjoy collecting weird things)
Ray Parker Jr. - Sex and the Single Man
Almost Summer Soundtrack
The One and Only Soundtrack (I got this mostly for the smiling Henry Winkler on the cover. Made me laugh out loud when I was flipping though the records)
Cassettes
Koko Taylor - Queen of the Blues
Billy Idol - Rebel Yell
Goo Goo Dolls - Boy Names Goo
Squirrel Nut Zippers - Hot (I actually remembered them from their appearance on Letterman, forgot how much I liked them)
Kool & The Gang - Something Special (Sealed BMG Direct edition)
The B-52's - Party Mix/Mesopotamia 2f1
Phish - Slip stitch and pass (Honestly Know nothing of Phish except for hippies like them)
Bad Company and Return to Zero - Walk Through Fire and Face the Music (Kellogg's Cinnamon Mini buns cereal in box give-a-way)
4 TDK cassette cases new in package
VHS
Pantera - Vulgar Video
Pantera - Cowboys From Hell
Pantera - Watch It Go
Slayer - Live Intrusion (one of my all time favorite bands)
I know nothing here is super great but I did get a few things I am glad to have found. Considering it was all for a total of 10 bucks I think it was a great day. If I would have had more time I bet I could have gotten some more also. One dealer wanted the Pantera VHS tapes and another dealer/collector wanted the Squirrel Nut Zipper cassette bad but I didn't have enough time to go through their stuff or work out a cash deal for the Pantera tapes.
The flea market has been a dud for a long time but this time reminded me of the way it used to be. Was really fun to go and have a good time.
