FleaWatt TPA-3116 Owners Thread

So I am now an owner of one of the TPA-3116 amps modified by FleaWatt. I should get it sometime next week. I am going to pair it with some Custom Omega 3XRS's but those are not finished yet. So when I get them, I will do a some critical listening and post a review. But I just wanted to share my excitement and enthusiasm! Thanks Poultrygeist for the info on FleaWatt. Here are some pics of my amp.

I'm a happy customer

I've actually got three of his TPA amps. You might pay a little more for them but 1) you know it's been tested and there won't be any surprises when it arrives and 2.) he does upgrade parts in them.

All my units have functioned flawlessly since I've had them.

So aside from the fact that they have all functioned flawlessly, what do you think of the sound quality?

It's not bad. I definitely prefer my SET amps, but they do sound okay. I like them better than a Rega Brio on some speakers. That said, in a similar price point, I probably prefer the little Miniwatt on high efficiency speakers.

I really, appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much. I am real close to making a purchase and almost paid for the Fleawatt today. My speakers are high efficiency speakers. Omega Super 3XRS's at 94.5 efficiency. I have been looking at that Mini Watt for sometime now. I am eventually going to be getting a Decware SE-84 UFO but only when I can afford it, that is why I am looking at inexpensive options for now like the FleWatt, Crown, MiniWatt and so on.

Well I hope you didn't ask Fleawatt to build an amp for you and are now thinking of skipping it? I'm confused, in your first post you said you were a new owner?

He was already building it and has other people interested in it. He told me that if I didn't get this one to not worry about it. He is building others. No, I wouldn't have someone build me an amp and back out. It's mine if I want it but I don't think he would mind if I didn't purchase it. He even has it up on his website for sale.

I actually pulled the trigger and made the payment today so looking forward to getting it in the next few days! Will try it direct and see what I think, I might try it with a tube pre-amp.

Jeff, any update on this? Did you receive your amp and listen to it with your Omegas? If so, how was it? I'm curious in one of his amps as well but I'm a bit on the fence since it's a bit expensive.

I got my amp and listened to it with some Klipsch RF-15's with a less than ideal source. And it was very impressive. I now have a Schiit Audio Uber Modi 2 and all new interconnects plus I will be using an Astron Power supply to power the TPA-3116. Still waiting on my Omega's, should have them VERY soon. Once I get everything up and running and get some hours on the system for everything to settle in, I plan on giving some feedback.
