Thanks for having me. Portland Oregon area.
I've been using your information database for a few months as I rekindled my HiFi passion.
I started out back before I was 10, learning from my dad and his Dyna 70, PAT, KLH system (early 60's)
In the 70s and 80s I ran through quite a few systems, finishing off in 84 with a Carver receiver, JBL4311s, my trusty Technics quartz drive TT.
Then the wife, house and kids in that order.
The only thing remaining from that "ultimate" 20 something system is the trusty Technics 5100 TT.
I've owned some mid range surround sound systems while in the family mode, presently running a Sony STR‑DE898 7.1 , Monitor speakers and sub in the family room.
My love has always been vinyl, and I managed to hang on to my moderate sized collection that started when I was 12 with just released Sgt Peppers.
With your help I have a room dedicated to 2 channel music,
I added a very inexpensive Yamaha RX-V1050 receiver (circa 91) approximately 110 wpc. (the remote is a bonus) The receiver has a great phono preamp.
The Yamaha drives a pair of Mission 765i speakers directly. These are great for Jazz, acoustic and low level listening. Anything where I want to hear some detail and nuance.
For loud hip-hop, rock and roll, Chicago blues and Reggae, I have a pair of HPM-100s being driven by a Yamaha M40. 120 wpc does the trick with these but I am going to have the crossover rebuilt.
Looking forward to participating more.
