Happy holidays everyone @ AudioKarma. As my gift to music lovers am giving away the 'master tape' of one of my tracks. The dynamics are huge! This is the never-before-released raw recording/file so the first 25 seconds is 'dead air' as I had to press record button on the Tascam and then get behind the drum/percussion setup. The music begins with quietly played tuned percussion, which eventually builds as more percussion instruments join in. Finally, the drums enter slowly as to 'warn' you of the impending loud finale section. Please be very careful with the volume of your audio system as the dynamic range is uncompressed and we are recording a very large set of drums/percussion. Yes the track is recorded a bit low in volume level as compared to commercial releases as was afraid of digital clipping during SPL peak. Your system should have plenty of gain to compensate, yet remember the finale is quite loud so be careful when setting your listening level.

Wow, some big dynamics on this - a real system workout. Nicely reminded me why I like having 4 x 15" Altec woofers in my room. :)

I'm playing it back converted to DSD128 on-the-fly to a DSD dac and the sonics are superb - nicely done Steven and thank you!
 
A most humble thanks guys. It is also the 'trick' to staying healthy and the mind working in polyrhythms on multiple levels.

Billfort, wow four 15" Altecs! Hope the gong bass drum gave them a lil' workout.
 
Yes, they got a work out. I use a pair of 416s as 'helpers' with my 604s and you mostly forget they are there...until I play something like this. :)
 
I'm struggling with our 1 meg :-P DSL here to get it downloaded...

We're actually on the cusp of getting cable internet here in the boondocks; our little village may be the only locale on the planet who is looking forward to having Comcast as our ISP ;-)
