No description of what they are though!

What most folks consider "huge" speakers would most likely be considered just large bookshelf speakers to me!!!

I just want to see the line forming out in front of this guys house. I can't believe they put their address on CL.

Yeah.. I thought the same too John.. that's why I was waiting to see what happened.. almost looks like a revenge posting..

That's about 1h from me - probably less. Man, I am itching to drive there, but today I simply don't have the time to make that trip. :tears:

I send an email. If they are still there tomorrow, I could go :sigh:

Yeah, and I bet the next door neighbor [ culprit of said CL revenge listing -who's tired of hearing the JBL thunder ] is wetting himself laughing at the perplexed look on Mr. JBL owner's face as he answers his door.

Well, turns out I was able to hitch a ride over there with a friend. When we got there no one was home, so we drove around for 10 minutes and came back. When we got back another speaker hunter was there waiting. Turns out he lives a few blocks over from me. So we wait there for another 10 minutes and the the homeowner shows up. The speakers belonged to here brother who had passed away, and she was moving. They meant the world to him, but her bird had chewed up the cabs around the edges so... she put them on the curb with the trash and put the add up on CL :yikes: Someone must have picked them up earlier today. She didn't know what model they were but indicated they were about waist height, so not really very big.

Okay, the address is about 24 miles/45 minutes from me, so I drive out there. There is an old beat up desk and a mattress out by the street, but no speakers. I pull in park and go knock on the door. No answer. I decide to wait in the driveway for a few minutes. After about 10 minutes the owner pulls in and tells me she had the speakers put out by the street. Well, it turns out they were L-200's that her birds (cockatoo's) had chewed up all the edges. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey tboat, didn't even think to ask if you were an AK member! Nice to know theres a few of us in BV.

Hey BK, yeh, she called me on the way home and told me they were the 200's. What a shame. She's got some other stuff that she wants to sell. I'm trying to see if I can help her.

Somebody's got a big old smile on their face tonight..
I've been there and know the feeling :thmbsp:

Good deeds and karma always come back to you. If she has anything of interest that you don't want, shoot me an email. I'm about an hour to the south and maybe something I'd be interested in. Receivers, speakers mainly, not r-to-r or cassette tape. Just sayin'.
