G 6700 cleaning distortion in right channel

I have attached a pic of the bottom of the 6700. I am trying to get to the balance, treble, bass tuning pots. The tone circuit board does not come out very easily because of short cables. Does anyone have ideas on how to get to those pots, without a major removal, so I can clean them. There is distortion in the right channel.
Thanks , Greg

I have hit the volume, balance and treble pots with deoxit spray and the distortion still persists in the right channel. Any ideas on what else I could hit to clean what may be causing the problem?

Yes, there are two ways that may allow you to clean those controls without a total dissassembly;

  1. Use the long thin red tube that comes with most spray cans to squirt into the area where the three 'tabs' enter the body of the control, or
  2. Use a long thin rod (I use a 16" small-sharfted screwdriver) placed into the opening of the control and run a drip of cleaner (several times) down the shaft into the control

Either of these usually allows me to get cleaner into the most poorly placed controls. Of course, you have to be able to see the 3 tabs on the control to make this work. Sometimes that means I have to loosen the control and push/slide it back a wee bit to get a visual on those 3 tabs. But it avoids the trauma of massive dissassembly and re-assessembly. :yes:

Thanks again.
I am trying the red tube with spray can, hoping it will work. Any recommendations on the best type of spay. Detoxit? I am able to loosen the board enough to get to it with the tube. The long thin shafted screwdriver is a good idea.

De-Oxit is good. Nu-Trol is also good. As long as it is an 'electronic contact' cleaner it should do the job.

On some units you can remove the entire front of the chassis to get to all the boards. I have no experience with this one, so I don't know how feasible that is.
