Garrard Turntable Model 1212

Anybody knows about this POS model from Garrard? Supposed to be made in Korea in 1995.

All I know Garrard was sold by Plessey to Gradiente Electronics of Brazil in 1979. The remaining Garrard research and development operation in Swindon was reduced to a skeleton operation until completely shut down in 1992. Then, Gradiente licensed the Garrard name to Terence O'Sullivan, now doing business as Garrard and Loricraft Audio, since 1997.

Surely this POS couldn't have come from Loricraft Audio as the leading authority on 301's, 401's, 501's, and 601's.

Cheap Far-Eastern BPC re-badged with a Garrard name by Gradiente in an attempt to confer some sort of acceptability on it.

Run a mile from one or, even better, buy it, re-use the belt on something better and break the rest into a thousand pieces!

Looks like the sort of thing I'd expect to see in a modern Radio Shack, next to the display of bad batteries and cellphones.

Gradiente era Asian sourced turntable this is. Pre-Loricraft. No 301 or 401 this is, hint, hint, wanna 401 for Moi.

I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft. pole!
