Google "fade" effect experiment

Just in case you use Google for your search engine, be aware they are experimenting with a fade effect for the links/buttons, etc. on the home page.

Evidently not everyone sees/gets it, but if you do, your computer is not broken. Many people have wasted time doing malware/anti virus procedures upon seeing the fade effect and thinking they had some type of infestation. I thought my system was messed up until I started looking for a way to fix it and then found out about the experiment.

BTW, I dislike the fade effect.

You can't turn the effect off?

Looks like I can in XP.

Not seeing it on Google searches though, On or Off.

No, it's not related to the Windows fade effects you can turn on/off in the OS.

You see the effect I'm seeing about 1/2 way through the clip when it goes back to the home page and then the cursor is moved over the screen.

I hate stupid, unnecessary graphical effects like that. I don't see why they feel the need to screw up something that works. Why do they want it to fade? It only slows you down. Gimme the graphics now, don't make me wait while they fade into view. Idiotic.
