I actually like to do what happened to you by accident. When I have an older dog that perhaps has 3 or 4 years left, I like to get a new pup. My experience is that the older dog usually ("usually") learns to adopt and help the younger dog. And when the older dog gets challenged with old age, the younger dog always seems to help the older dog. I had a older dog that went blind from Glaucoma, and the younger pup helped guide him around the home, nudging him and bumping him and barking him to safety. It was wonderful to watch.

Congrats Dad! :thmbsp: Enjoy that new pup and cherish your older one as well. I know you will.
 
Lot of dogs getting sick from bad dog food {kibble} so I converted my boxers to a raw meat diet .Their coats now shine and their teeth are snow white.If you go on youtube and
punch in Dr. Karen Becker she will explain about the garbage they put in store bought
kibble dog food and how vets are over vaccinating animals.

Big Bo looks like he likes little Bear so half the training is done as Bear has someone to teach him and learn from.

I just met this couple so I don't know them or what there intentions were with the pup . They told me they have two small lap dogs . I guess some people don't think . But it worked out well this time . Bear will have a great home here .

I'm with you there ! I've had Bo on a raw diet for a year and a half on my vets recommendation . He also gets raw bone for treats . The marrow is good for them as well . Bear will get the same diet . :thmbsp:

I grew up w/Princess, the GS who belonged to the guy & his wife who ran the county airport. She LOVED to play "Tug" w/a rope, or an airplane tire, ANYTHING that came in handy.. I'm thinkin' she lived to be 15 or so, she was a BEAUTIFUL dog. She'd snarl & growl CONSTANTLY at you when you were playin' "Tug" w/her, only thing that upset her worse was if you quit..

Some dogs can wear you out, they never want to quit.

The newest rescue is like that, it's taking forever to get her to settle but it's slowly working after at 15 months. This is Olivia, a street stray from Decatur Ga.

I like the photo you posted, they both look content and happy together.
 
I showed my wife the photo of the puppy she loves the pup (and the big doggie also... as do i) ... we both looooooove his one slightly droopy ear... very cute..
 
That pup's got some crazy-lookin' ears!

Glad you were able to take him in and give him a good home.
