I have a grado gold roughly setup on an RPM4, the cart in this picture seems to be leaning forward quite a bit, it this normal for a grado cart?

The front of the cart is perpendicular to the surface of the record. In the picture the head shell of the Dual is has some angles. It gives the optical illusion that the cartridge is at a angle.

That is a Joseph Grado Signature cartridge. They were hand selected from various production runs. To get an exact model ID, you'll have to email the photo to Grado. They get back to you in a day or two. From my conversations with them, they said the Joseph Grado bodies will accept any Prestige stylus assembly you want to put in them. Very nice piece of kit you have there. I'm still trying to score a used JG body so I can get a gold stylus for it. Someday it'll all come together :)

Broc, my Prestige Gold has a JG emblem and as much as I wish it were a Signature, it isn't. As I understand it Grado used the JG emblem exclusively for the Signature cartridges but at least for a while they used the JG and G emblems interchangeably. I suspect that after Joe stopped making the Signature cartridges Grado decided to use up the leftover JG emblems on their regular production.

No, for the azimuth to be correct, the front face of the cartridge should be perpendicular (90 degrees) from the record surface.

That's what I thought, cheers for that! Also, for what it's worth... I have a Grado Gold and it too has the JG emblem seen in the picture.

I sent a email to Grado and they confirmed it is a Grado Gold. I was hoping it was a signature. Oh well it sure sounds alot better than my Grado Blue.

OK, I stand corrected. But, in any case it looks like the JG logo only went on higher end cartridges? That is probably more important than what I was lead to believe in the past. All good from here :)
