Hello everybody,
I own a beautiful Marantz 150 tuner with a green scope. It is in perfect operational and cosmetic condition with no "burn-in" and is typical of the early "Sun Valley" 150's. Others have the blue scope that are typical of the later "Chatsworth" 150's. However if I had a choice, and was able to buy one new, I would have preferred one with the blue scope.
A very good friend who has extensive experience in owning and repairing 1970's era Marantz equipment, and who owns a blue scope 150, explained to me that all the scopes were green but what made the difference was a blue gel material in front of the scope tube.
I'm considering turning my scope from green to blue so my question would be what is this "gel" made of, how is it installed, is it still available, and if so where?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
