Grundig PS 3500

Hi all,
I've recently aquired an old Grundig PS 3500, which is, apparently, manufactured by Technics.
It came with standard Audio Technica AT71 cartridgeand a DIN connector that I still have to replace.
I have downloaded the manual from vinylengine.com, but it's lacking in technical details and I'm not sure what should I do: stick with the AT71, replace it with the adapted Stanton L720EE that i have on the NAD 5120, or should I go buy a new cartridge? The Stanton works ok on the NAD, with the flat arm, but I'm not sure about the height of the whole cart/adapter compared to the AT...
Any thoughts, advice, opinions are welcome!

actually I'd deem neither of the two quite an optimal choice for the PS3500, as both are just entry-level models with little upgrade potential - and because the AT71 isn't really ideal in terms of compliance, while the 720EE (plus halfinch-mount adaptor) indeed wouldn't be quite ideal in terms of height. An AT120E or AT440MLa would be pretty good choices, though (or, in case your budget wouldn't allow for more, at least an AT100E for a start, which you could upgrade with a better AT needle later on...) - or alternatively an Ortofon 520II/VM Red (or at least a 510II/VM White for a start). And yet another good idea could be the Acutex 412STR from that Italian vendor on Ebay for 49 Euro, which would be a very attractive choice in terms of perfomance per price - however, afaik there are no original replacement or upgrade needles for that being offered anymore...

P.S.: How's the weather in Bucharest? Over here it's "grey in grey" - and has already been that way for the last couple of weeks. Pretty depressing in the long run...

Thank you for your answer! Indeed, the weather in Bucharest is also "grey on grey" but with constant drizzle that threatens to turn into ice at night. No sun for a month or so.

Regarding the TT: I was hoping to keep it under radar, budget wise. So if these are the best options I'll have to wait until next year. I was still going to try the Stanton, just for fun, but I'm not sure about aligning it, as there are no specifications regarding the tonearm. Is there a way to find all this information? How can I reliably measure all the needed parameters?
