Harman Kardon 330 (not Three Thirty) Service Manual

Hi All,

I am looking for a service manual for a Harman Kardon Nocturne 330 (not the Three Thirty). I have service manuals for the Three Thirty, 330A, B and C and the board layouts don't quite match. Anyone have any hints as to where I can find this manual? I have checked eBay and many of the online manual sites with no luck. Thanks!

Thanks Kwayde.

I see the owners manual there but not the service manual (am I missing it?). Most of that documentation looks like it is for the 7.1 channel A/V version of the receiver. I am looking for the old (1970s?) Nocturne 330 service manual. (I should have specified this better). The one shown here

No, it's not the one you need. I didn't read far enough to see it's for a different unit. I'm sorry.

Good luck! When you find it, let me know and I'll add it to the Nocturne and Minimalist catalog threads.

Thanks Dlucy! I will let you know when (and if) I find one. Right now it doesn't look too promising. I have downloaded quite a few, and even purchased a couple that said they were for the 330. All of them turned out to be for the Three Thirty or the 330A/B/C...

The 330 I have is different from the one you show in your guide. I have attached pictures of the 330 (right) next to my Three Thirty (left). The insides look like a 330, but the front face is the Nocturne style faceplate and it has Three Thirty spelled out. It has the separate bass and treble adjustments though, and based on the layout I am guessing it is a 330. Were there a lot of hybrid versions like this one?

Welcome to the mystery machine. We have the same unit and I recently posted in Dlucy’s thread regarding the nocturnes. Near as I can tell it’s a straight 330 guts with some small differences and I have also had no luck finding a SM. I did finally get to spend some time on it and have been rewarded with a nice sounding receiver that already has gotten a few nice comments in the neighborhood. When you get a chance, check out Dlucy’s HK threads. Some really good stuff in there.

My guess is HK made what they could from the parts on hand... and that means a good number of units had differing boards....

Maybe the best path forward, for us crazy people on AK, is to have a catalog of images of each board... pointing to the BOM and tips for that particular board... versus purely a "this model vs that model" approach.

Thanks for all the info! I was a little worried someone had pieced this thing together (I guess if HK did it its OK). The receiver sounds pretty good now, I was just planning on recapping. I'll forge ahead without the service manual.
