"Hate"

Well Chris, I have to say I really do hate the butterfinger commercial with demon/alien in the Corvette. First off, butterfinger is the grossest, poor excuse for a candy bar ever. Second, that commercial is just incredibly stupid and 3rd, they keep on showing it over and over and over....

They just don't seem to understand that showing the same crappy ad excessively doesn't make their product suck any less. Instead, it makes people less inclined to buy it and costs them any respect anyone ever had for them.

So, while I don't like using the word "hate", there is just no other word that fits how I feel about the aforementioned gross product and its pathetic ad. I hope you understand.

A local furniture store has these irritating ads every morning and evening on TV with some little girl that they think is cute doing the selling.

My wife and I just bought a new house and all new furniture. We intentionally avoided shopping there just because of the irritating ads.

All this is a sign of a lack of integrity.

If our society knew how carcinogenic negative attitudes and sentiments are in the long term, it would rather see sense. Common sense.

A simple smile, by the way, is always pretty relaxing... :)

OK, check this out. "It finally happened..." as if this were expected all along. Obviously, she feels that her neighbors don't want it in the neighborhood.

I have been known to avoid businesses for using irritating ads too.

On one hand, she has the right to have her she shed on her property. OTOH, she does NOT have the right to accuse anyone of setting fire to it without seeing it happen or having sufficient cause to point a finger. She is also responsible to use her shed in a manner that does not disturb the peace or is otherwise unreasonably disrespectful to her neighbors.
 
Also, back in the 60s and 70s, I disliked Led Zeppelin. They never appealed to me. Everyone has the right to his/her own taste and no matter how popular a band is, there will always be people who don't like them.

Around the mid 80s a coworker asked me if I liked Zep. Not thinking anything of it, I said "No." and kept walking only to hear everyone in the room plus the Spanish inquisition yell, "Are you crazy?" I was basically not on speaking terms with anyone for about a week after how I responded to the aforementioned question. After that, I tell people Led Zeppelin is the band I hate most in the world and I hate every note of every song by them and "Stairway...." is the song I hate most in the world. Yes, I have calmed down considerably in the 30 plus years since this bit of ugliness, but the idea that I or anyone else has to like someone or something because she/he or it is popular and something is wrong with you if you don't is extremely offensive. I'm sure that those same individuals would be very upset if they were asked if they're crazy for not liking Taylor Swift. I'm not familiar enough with her to say that I do or don't like her. However, I am quite certain that I would rather listen to her than Robert Plant's whining voice or Jimmy Page's irritating and sloppy guitar work any day.

Don't get me started. Although I generally didn't like having to fire people when in positions of supervisor/management/foreman, some felt good. One that I really enjoyed firing (had to work hard at not letting it show) was an abusive supervisor. I got numerous complaints about him and caught him in the act of putting some darn good employees down. I had addressed this with him a few times and each time, he just got worse. It felt good to give him the boot.

I think they often have issues at home and bring it to work, they try to pick out an employee and pick at them while nobody is looking, change their whole demeaner when around other people. They go home and kick the dog when nobody is looking. Too bad you never know until they are often established in their position. Funny thing they often pick on the ones that don't deserve it and leave the ones that do, alone. I think they are scared to get at the real problem because those others are often the ones that fight back.
