You can get tubes at lots of places. Tubes & more dot com comes to mind. The tubes in those HeathKit amps are readily available anywhere.
The 7591 and 12AX7's are all available.
The AA 100 is a 50 watt amp ( 25 WPC) and it is one of their better integrated amplifiers.
Personally, I would forget about the tubes for now and just do the standard recap. You may not need new tubes.
I'd worry more about the caps honestly. It was a kit though, meant to be assembled by mere mortals which makes it easy to work on later.
I don't have the time or work space right nowBeautiful Heath Kits! Recap em then enjoy. Nothing says 50's like a set of what you have there...
Thanks.Required reading for AA-100 owners.http://audiokarma.org/forums/index....or-the-heathkit-aa-100-integrated-amp.204753/
Rebuilding the AA100 can be problematic. Don't get me wrong, i think Heathkit made some awesome equipment, and the aa100 certainly has unique styling. But the 100 , imo, is a case of a piece trying to be leading edge by using a circuit board but missing the mark because the technology was poor, or implementation was poorly executed. The components are mounted on an old style phenolic circuit board which is notorious for issues like traces lifting and breaking during rebuilding. And a lot of caps and resistors are mounted vertically which can be an issue with space. Also there are all those level pots on the component inputs which after 60 years have bad wiper contacts. I know after rebuilding mine a long time ago, i was thoroughly underwhelmed.I don't have the time or work space right now
I'm remodeling the house. So it will get sold
Or placed in storage
I have an amp and tuner in like new condition. But it completely original.while it does work. Maybe time to replace tubes
And caps. I have seen a few threads here
But at the end of the day. I think I should sell or trade it. Google searches for tubes
