I have an amp and tuner in like new condition. But it completely original.while it does work. Maybe time to replace tubes
And caps. I have seen a few threads here
But at the end of the day. I think I should sell or trade it. Google searches for tubes

You can get tubes at lots of places. Tubes & more dot com comes to mind. The tubes in those HeathKit amps are readily available anywhere.

The 7591 and 12AX7's are all available.

The AA 100 is a 50 watt amp ( 25 WPC) and it is one of their better integrated amplifiers.

Personally, I would forget about the tubes for now and just do the standard recap. You may not need new tubes.

Thanks for the info. It's a super clean unit.
I have repaired juke boxes and EM pinball
Machines.. not sure I want to mess with this one.

There is a guy on AK who sells new replacement boards for the power section of this amp, enabling fixed bias for each tube. No affiliation, but a satisfied customer.

There is also a famous 'fix-all' thread on here, which is very worthwhile.

I've just been listening to my AA50 (earlier chassis, same amp) before work. Very nice too.

I'd worry more about the caps honestly. It was a kit though, meant to be assembled by mere mortals which makes it easy to work on later.

Henry-Welcome to AK ! Those two are beautiful, vintage examples. Both part of my bucket list. I've never seen such clean examples. If you want to sell them, please offer them to me first ! Do they have the original tubes, labeled Heathkit? if so, you should replace them but keep the originals for authenticity. Doing a re-cap and tube replacement will assure if will work for years to come. maybe you just need a change? Buy another piece, I love HH Scotts'.

I don't have the time or work space right now
I'm remodeling the house. So it will get sold
Or placed in storage
Rebuilding the AA100 can be problematic. Don't get me wrong, i think Heathkit made some awesome equipment, and the aa100 certainly has unique styling. But the 100 , imo, is a case of a piece trying to be leading edge by using a circuit board but missing the mark because the technology was poor, or implementation was poorly executed. The components are mounted on an old style phenolic circuit board which is notorious for issues like traces lifting and breaking during rebuilding. And a lot of caps and resistors are mounted vertically which can be an issue with space. Also there are all those level pots on the component inputs which after 60 years have bad wiper contacts. I know after rebuilding mine a long time ago, i was thoroughly underwhelmed.

I installed volvogv's new boards, with good results. Recommended, perhaps to the person you sell the AA100 to.

Years ago, I had an AA100 but I sold it as the boards were problematic due to heat deterioration. I actually like its smaller sibling the AA151 as it is hard wired and a bunch easier to repair. I know they are lower power, but as far as I'm concerned, the EL 84 is a better sounding tube than the 7591.

I just bought a damn nice AA-100 this morning . That works lovely paid 400$ for it . What is the name of the Heathkit tuner ? I want to buy one I can't quite tell on the picture there

AJ-41. Or AJ-30.

My AA-100 came with an AJ-41.

Given the pilot light in the center of the bottom panel- that looks like an AJ-41 in the picture above. The AJ-30 has a big "Heathkit/Daystrom" logo in that position, instead of the pilot light.

The AJ-30 requires an outboard AC-11 multiplex adapter (the package which included the AJ-30 and AC-11 was called the AJ-30S)- while the AJ-41 had multiplex built in.

Regards,
Gordon.
