Hi folks. Haven't posted in who knows how long. I'm sure I've missed a lot of great content: I'll go back and check up on some.
So I recently picked up a Sony STR-6800SD in excellent condition with original box and packaging. Alas, no manual but I was able to download both the owners manual and service manual from Hifiengine. Love that site. I've played it about 7 hours so far and.its operated flawlessly. I put it on my DBT first, then checked DC offset before hooking it up. I found it at a yard sale for the obscenely low price of $6. I almost felt guilty...almost. I have to say it's about the best sounding vintage receiver I've ever owned aside from the Kyocera.R-851 that unfortunately bit the dust about 3 years ago. It does everything well. I'd be interested in others' experience with this unit.
