Al from Brooks
Hello Audiokarma,
The name is Al Paul and I hail from Brooks, Alberta.
Being on the plus side of 50, kids out of the house and the house paid for, I can now afford the stereo I wanted, but couldn't afford when I was 20. The system I started with, now long gone and don't recall most of the model numbers, was all entry level equipment that was abused with high volumes for long periods of time. Probably a scenario some of you are familiar with from days gone by. It was probably just as well I didn't have a higher end system then.
For about 10 years now I have been adding to, and playing my vynl collection. With that I have prurchased some vintage equipment. Dedicated almost solely to the vynl collection I have the following equipment:
Yamaha CA-1010 amplifier.
Yamaha CT-610 tuner.
Hitachi PS-48 turntable.
Pioneer HPM 1100 speakers.
Pioneer HPM 100 speakers.
It sounds pretty good, but I wonder if I could make an upgrade or two to make it noticeably better. I'll take the question to the other forums.
