I have been a member for awhile but just now posting. I was cleaning out a closet 6months ago and came across a kenwood kt-5300 tuner that my father gave to me in the early 90's, i forgot it even existed. I started messing with it and couldnt get over the obvious build quality compared to all the modern day equipment i have owned in my 32 years of life. I got on ebay and got a kennwood ka-3500 amp, a sansui turntable, and a pair of JBL 4311's off craigs list for 100bucks! I was and still am blown away by vynl. Anyways i'm now addicted. I now have 5 turn tables including my favorite of the bunch a dual 721. I just bought me a yamaha ca-2010 and i'm waiting for the delivery. Thanks for all your posts. This is the first place i look when i'm confused and trying to figure out a problem or a recomendation for new gear!:thmbsp:

spent a couple yrs down in New Iberia while in the US Navy on an auxilary air station there in 61-63. I quite clearly remember the heat and humidity in the summer and the mosquetoes. Hurricane Carla. Cold icy at times in winter made for lousy mid-watch duty out on the aircraft parking apron. But I recall it all with fond memories of the people and country when it was still rural bayou cajun country with all the Fontineaux's and Tibideaux's. Loved the distinctly cajun speech like get down from the car. Enjoyed Fay-do-do in town when the main street closed down and the whole town partyd. The air station is long since closed.

Welcome aboard! Great find on CL! Those JBL speakers are great. I too have a Kenwood KT tuner, and they are quite nice. Very well designed from both engineering and aesthetics points of view.

old hi fi guy, i'm not a kajun i am actually from nebraska. I'm here in LA putting my time in on that parking apron you speak of. I am a b-52 crew chief at Barksdale. 7 more years and i can call myself retired!!

Marshall, cajuns are great friendly people and make great food so even ifn you were cajun no need to apologize.
Wow, you play with the BIG guns. We had S2F Grummens twin recip for carrier service that Navcads trained in.
