Hello there,
My first somewhat decent piece of stereo gear came to me in my early teen years from my uncle, a Marantz 1515 receiver and a set of Nova-7b speakers.
It wasn't until this year when I brought it out to school with did I realize that both tweeters in my left speaker were shot and that my receiver was underpowered (for my purposes hehe).
Fortunately I came across an awesome deal near me and I now have a Marantz 1060 integrated amp, some Mission m72 speakers, 2 pairs of optimus Pro-X44AV (minimus 7s), an Akai tuner and a Sony cd changer (though all my cds are at home haha).
At the moment the 1060 is in the living room with the 7bs and the Missions remoted to the kitchen. I love this amp. It's made me appreciate my speakers in a whole new way. At the moment I am very antsy to bring my 7bs back up to specs, I've been hearing a lot of great things about them.
I figured it was time for an introduction given how much time I've spending reading these forums. Currently I am attending university (4th year) in Nova Scotia but my home is back in Ontario. I spend a lot of time listening to music. My tastes are broad; I couldn't say I like all genres except for "X". This year I've come to having more hard drive space so I've been gradually updating my library to lossless and vinyl rips when possible. I figured I had the space so why not but it wasn't until recently that I began to really start noticing a difference from lossy. My first somewhat decent piece of stereo gear came to me in my early teen years from my uncle, a Marantz 1515 receiver and a set of Nova-7b speakers.
