Help Identify pre-magnum HPR-12 RTR Stereo speakers

These have serial #F00181 on 1 speaker and serial #F00170 on the other. They have the same controls and plate layout on the back as the HPR-12-Magnum, however instead of the letter "M" there is an "F". Speaker arrangement consists of a passive 12" on bottom, 12" powered speaker above that and the mid and tweeter side by side above that. Speakers are 36" tall with a finished 3" wide walnut strip across the top and another one across the bottom of the speaker cabinet's face. Grill is one-piece 33"" tall, which leave 1-1/2" of walnut exposed above and below the grill. Everything I have found online has a walnut strip splitting the speaker grill approx. 2/3 of the way up. (Like the Magnum and series III) These speakers of mine are in excellent condition and sound great. I do want to replace the tweeters in both because one is damaged. I am just curious what I have here.

Apparently, as I have read, the HPR-12 was the predecessor to the HPR-12M (Magnum). A little help, please?

I have a pair that I had stored for a while and just broke out to test and evaluate. Mine are just like yours, and serial # is F 00179 and F 00180. How about that? I got them from the original owner a few years ago. The tweeters sound like they don't work when hooked up to a music source, but when I took them out and tested they were ok. I plan to pull the crossover, re-cap, clean the pots, bypass the circuit breaker, and then retest. I have some JBL tweeters I could replace the paper tweets with but then they are no longer original. So I will put them back together first and test and let you know what I get. I have searched for info on these and come up empty until your post. My guess is this was the first try and the M is the second try. The mid sounded ok but no high end. The cabs are good but have some water stains, so I want to get the engine running first before I do the refinishing. They look good enough to re-purpose with other drivers and well built. Since you and I both have low serial numbers I'm guessing they did not sell many of these ...
